Armenia opened its largest solar power station

“Talin-1” solar power station was opened in the town of Talin in Aragatsotn Province. It’s the largest solar power station in Armenia.

The opening ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Karen Karapetyan and Deputy Head of Mission of the Federal Republic of Germany in Yerevan Klaus Wendelberger.  

“Talin-1” was designed and built by Armenian company “Arpi Solar”. The project was funded by a group of Armenian investors, the German-Armenian Fund (GAF) and the German government-owned development bank KfW.  The construction costs comprised $1 million.

The power plant covers an area of 1,800 sq m. It has capacity of 1 MW, which equals energy consumption of about 400 families.

It is reported that the investment program includes construction of 6 more stations in Armenia.
