FRENCH ROAD THEATRE COMES TO ARMENIA

From July 20 to August 6, a group of French actors will hold a series of performances throughout Armenia. Starting the trip of the road theatre in Yerevan, the group will travel to 10 towns and villages of Armenia. Two shows will be held in orphanages.

The first show will take place on July 23 in Ashtarak. The group will perform in Yerevan’s Moscow Theatre on August 4.

Armenia is the first destination of the road theatre.

“All of us have more or less heard of Armenia, the Armenians and their history, - the actors say in their announcement. - The latest events have strengthened our desire to discover the people who managed to make a velvet revolution without resorting to violence, only by dancing and singing. We are convinced that we will have no trouble understanding each other despite the language barrier”.

The interactive shows will be full of dancing, music, gestures, singing, and will contain almost no dialogue. The performances will be free of charge: all the money for the project was collected through crowdfunding. Actors studied Armenian stories and poetry as well as folk tales and legends to get ready for the performances. French director Laurier Fournaiu joined the troupe to shoot the entire trip for an upcoming documentary film.

In the future, the troupe plans to travel and give live performances in different countries.
