The 9th ReAnimania Festival opens this week in Yerevan

The 9th ReAnimania International Animation Film & Comics Art Festival will take place in Yerevan on October 28 – November 3.

The festival will be opened by “Loving Vincent”, a 2017 biographical animated drama about artist Vincent van Gogh, one of the most significant animation projects in recent years. Directors Dorota Kobiela and Hugh Welchman shoot the first fully painted animated film. It consists of 65,000 frames, and each one of them is an oil painting on canvas created by 115 painters using Van Gogh’s technique. The festival will host the producer of “Loving Vincent” and the CEO of Silver Screen cinema chain Sean Bobbit.

2017 festival will screen feature and short films from France, Germany, United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Japan, China, Iran, Russia, etc.

The first ReAnimania took place in 2009. Since then, the festival has welcomed more than 20,000 spectators and has had 350 annual screenings. It is the largest animation film festivals in South Caucasus.
