U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) Administrator Samantha Power and U.S. State Department Acting Assistant Secretary for Europe and Eurasian Affairs Yuri Kim arrived in Armenia on September 25 to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Artsakh.

France is very vigilant in matters related to the territorial integrity of Armenia and supports the Armenian people. French President Emmanuel Macron stated this in an interview with BFM TV on September 24.

The Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention has issued a statement criticizing global leaders on lack of action to prevent a genocidal outcome in the Nagorno-Karabakh humanitarian crisis.

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan on 24 September met Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, Minister of External Affairs of India on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. The ministers discussed regional security in the South Caucasus, the Armenian Foreign Ministry readout says.

The Washington Post published an op-ed by Luis Moreno Ocampo, the first chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on the humanitarian catastrophe resulting from the recent Azerbaijani aggression in Nagorno-Karabakh.  

Armenian Prime Minister on 22 September received European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar and Head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Vassilis Maragos. The interlocutors discussed the situation Artsakh and steps for overcoming it, a press release by the Prime Minister’s office said.

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan speaking at the cabinet meeting on 22 September has said that the aim of Armenia is not to depopulate Artsakh.

The Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova has criticized France for “attempts to grab the leadership” in seeking for a peaceful settlement in Karabakh.

EU High Representative for Foreign and Security Policy Josep Borrell made the following statement on the ceasefire in Artsakh brokered by the Russian peacekeepers:

In a televised address to the nation on 20 September Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev has promised “integration” to Armenians in Karabakh.
