A quick retrospect to the history of Artsakh, a.k.a. Nagorno-Karabakh, from ancient times to the creation of the Armenian First Republic in 1918.

He has advised companies, tourism boards and governments on their branding and crisis communication strategies, such as Iceland after the economic collapse of 2008 and the volcanic eruptions of 2010 and 2011, Nepal after the earthquakes of 2015, as well as countries in Africa and Middle East following political turmoil and economic difficulties. Hjortur is the founder and principal of S.A.L.T., the School of Astronaut Leadership Training where he offers leadership training together with astronauts and specialists from NASA. Hjortur visited Armenia in 2017 when he worked with DEEM Communications on the branding of Gyumri.

Translation is the medium in which different cultures and contexts merge with one another, conveying new meanings and themes. A CSR and social entrepreneurship professional by day and a literary translator by night, Nazareth Seferian told the Regional Post about the peculiarities of translating Armenian literature and his personal views on the field.

UNESCO and Armenia have almost 30 years of successful collaboration, with the inscription of most prominent Armenian sites and cultural traditions. Soil is one of the most important components of the ecosystems on earth. It plays a major role in determining the distribution of natural vegetation, crops, and even human settlements. Healthy and fertile soil contributes to nearly all aspects of human life - from food production to climate regulation. In Armenia, soil erosion might not seem a top priority issue, especially in rural areas where the residents have to cope with socio-economic challenges on a daily basis. However, the maintenance of good soil quality can play a large role in food security and the livelihoods of people as well as the proper functioning of ecosystem services.

Armenian culture has its peculiar presence not only within the borders of the country, but it also left its trace across the globe. Here are several sites of Armenian origin, included in UNESCO Cultural Heritage List from other countries.
