Armenia agrees to Russian vision on Artsakh status – Pashinyan

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said that the Russian vision of postponement of the Karabakh status resolution is in line with Armenian interest. He said this on 2 November during a joins session of National Assembly’s standing committees on the bill on state budget of 2023.

“Our Russian colleagues have stated that in their opinion it would be proper to indefinitely postpone discussion on the Nagorno-Karabakh status issue,” Pashinyan said, adding that it matches Armenian official stance “for 100 per cent”.

The Armenian prime minister opined that Nagorno-Karabakh issue has three components, including the security of the local Armenians, protection of their rights and the status.

Touching on the recent trilateral meeting with the Russian and Azerbaijani leaders in Sochi, Pashinyan praised it. “Can I summarize the meeting as a step towards the implementation of the freedom agenda? Yes, definitely I can,” the Armenian prime minister said.
