Armenian Foreign Ministry has issued a statement on 19 September, strongly condemning Azerbaijan’s aggression against Nagorno-Karabakh. “on September 19 Azerbaijan launched yet another full-scale aggression against the people of Nagorno-Karabakh with an aim of completing its policy of ethnic cleansing,” the statement says. It also notes that “encouraged by the sense of impunity Azerbaijan has openly assumed responsibility for the aggression”.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry also recalled that Azerbaijani propaganda narratives had prepared ground for the aggression by calling Artsakh civilians as “terrorists” and circulating false statements.
“Under the made-up pretext of ‘hitting at military targets’ Azerbaijani artillery shells civilian settlements, the city of Stepanakert, other cities and villages,” the statement said.
The Armenian Foreign Ministry reiterated its earlier denial of the existence of Armenian Armed Forces stationed on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh and dismissed all Azerbaijani allegation on planting mines on the territories under Azerbaijani control or saboteur activities.
The statement also called on the UN Security Council members, including Russia whose peace-keeping forces “to undertake and clear steps to put an end to Azerbaijan’s aggression”.
