Canadian Foreign Minister to visit Armenia

Canadian Foreign Minister Mélanie Joly said during a press briefing on 19 October that she would visit Armenia in the near future.

Commenting on the situation in the region, Joly noted that Canada stands for strict adherence to the territorial integrity and sovereignty of countries.

On 18 October, the Czech Senate approved a resolution on the humanitarian needs of Armenians in Nagorno-Karabakh and the current situation. The Armenian Embassy in the Czech Republic reported.

The resolution condemns all forms of violence by Azerbaijan against the population of Nagorno-Karabakh. The Czech Parliament calls on the parties to the conflict to respect the basic norms of international humanitarian law.

The resolution calls on Azerbaijan to allow access for international observers to Nagorno-Karabakh and calls on the parties to refrain from damaging cultural and historical monuments on the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh.

The senators emphasize the importance of providing humanitarian assistance to the victims and call on the Czech government to be ready, whenever possible, to provide assistance, in particular, to the most vulnerable groups: mothers with children and children without parents.
