Historian Sergey Markedonov’s article published at Carnegie Moscow Center website suggest that Nagorno-Karabakh is the only post-Soviet conflict where Russia and the US are ready to work together. Both countries hesitate to do so, even though if they unite efforts there may be a high chance on regulating long-lasting conflict.
