The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) has conveyed its willingness to provide assistance to forcibly displaced people from Nagorno-Karabakh, as per a statement from the Armenian Ministry of Finance on 31 October.

The ministry's statement highlights that this matter was discussed during a meeting involving Armenian Finance Minister Vahe Hovhannisyan, EBRD Regional Director for the Caucasus Alkis Vrienios Drakinos, and the head of the EBRD Yerevan office, Georgiy Akhalkatsi.

The potential assistance is expected to focus primarily on the small and medium-sized business sector and individuals interested in entrepreneurial endeavors, as well as addressing specific social issues faced by forcibly displaced persons.

Furthermore, during the meeting, Vahe Hovhannisyan underscored the significance of projects executed in collaboration with the EBRD in vital infrastructure sectors for Armenia. He emphasized the importance of targeted support, as well as the evaluation and identification of needs.
