Armenian Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grogoyan on 4 September told reporters that Azerbaijan so far has not responded to Armenian new proposals on the planned bilateral treaty, mentioned by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan on 25 August.
“As far as I know we still haven’t received a response regarding the latest proposal,” Grigoryan said when asked whether or not there’s been a reaction by Azerbaijan to the offers.
He also said there is no arrangement for a trilateral Armenian-Russian-Azerbaijani deputy prime ministers on deblocking the regional economic and transportation communications, adding that the “general environment” has to be positive for such encounters.
“After all unblocking the communications is a peace process and it will be possible and expedient in peaceful conditions,” he said, adding that an inevitable slowdown in the commission's activities is linked to the lack of such conditions.
Mher Grigoryan was also asked to comment on the circulating rumors of relocating the smelter plant in Yeraskh in construction, which being close to the border of Azerbaijan has been targeted by Azerbaijani forces on several occasions.
“I have no such information and cannot provide any additional details on the developments. I think all the relevant bodies are dealing with this issue so that the investor has fully comfortable conditions for implementing its business plans in Armenia,” the Deputy Prime Minister said.
