Pashinyan discussed the Lachin Corridor blockade with Putin

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan discussed the blockade of the Lachin Corridor in a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 12.

According to the press service of the Prime Minister of Armenia, the interlocutors discussed issues related to the solution of the situation on the road connecting Artsakh with Armenia. “Prime Minister Pashinyan emphasized the importance of ensuring uninterrupted communication between Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and the implementation of consistent steps by the Russian peacekeeping mission in that direction”, —said in a press release.

Putin and Pashinyan touched on the implementation of the trilateral statements of the leaders of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan of November 9, 2020, January 11, and November 26, 2021, as well as October 31, 2022.

According to the Kremlin press service, on the same day, Putin also discussed the implementation of these agreements in a telephone conversation with his Azerbaijani counterpart Ilham Aliyev.

It should be noted that the blockade of the Lachin Corridor was mentioned only in the press release of the Prime Minister of Armenia.

On Monday, December 12, Azerbaijanis, pretending to be environmental activists, set up tents on the Stepanakert-Goris highway, thereby blocking the only road connecting Nagorno-Karabakh to the world.
