Peskov disagreed with Armenian Prime Minister’s opinion on Russian "withdrawal" from region

Press Secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov expressed disagreement with the statement of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan about the possibility of Russia's withdrawal from the South Caucasus, made days earlier in an interview with the Italian newspaper La Repubblica, RIA Novosti reports on September 5.

"Russia is an absolutely integral part of this region, so it cannot leave anywhere. Russia cannot leave Armenia," Peskov told reporters.

The press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation also said that Russia appreciates constructive relations with Armenia, but does not agree with Pashinyan's theses about the failure of the mission of Russian peacekeepers.

He also stated that "more Armenians live in Russia than in Armenia itself" and most of them, according to him, are patriotic citizens of the Russian Federation and make a worthy contribution to the development of the country.

Recall that the day before, the Russian state news agency TASS published an article where an unnamed "diplomatic source" of the agency criticized Pashinyan's statements.
