A truck loaded with Russian humanitarian aid for Artsakh has arrived in Stepanakert through the Akna (Aghdam)-Askeran road, Artsakhpress news agency reported on 12 September.
Artsakhpress also quoted Askeran mayor Hayk Shamiryan as saying that a crowd of citizens who had gathered near the Tank Memorial close to the Russian peacekeepers’ checkpoint initially protested and did not allow passage to the vehicle, but eventually cleared the road. The Russian Red Cross vehicle carrying essential goods of Russian production subsequently reached Stepanakert, the official InfoCenter of Nagorno-Karabakh said on the same day.
Later it was reported that the humanitarian cargo includes 1000 food packages each containing 2kgs of wheat flour, 1kg of sugar, 1 bottle of sunflower oil, as well as packages with other essentials.
