On October 20, the United States and the European Union published a joint statement following the US-EU Summit. As stated in a statement published on the website of the European Commission, the parties are deepening cooperation to reflect the pressing challenges and opportunities of the time. “We are more united than ever,” the statement said.
The US and EU in the text of the statement express support for Ukraine and Moldova, condemn aggression in the Middle East, and also call for peace in the South Caucasus.
“We remain committed to promoting lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan based on mutual recognition of sovereignty, inviolability of borders and territorial integrity. We call on Azerbaijan to ensure the rights and safety of those who remain in Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as those who wish to return to their homes. We also call on all parties to adhere to the principle of the non-use of force and the threat of its use,” the statement said.
