Women hold protest rally against Armenian government’s policy on Artsakh

The rally was held by the initiative group “You Have No Mandate”. The protesters gathered at the entrance to the government building held banners reading as “You have no mandate to erase historical memory”, “You have no mandate to surrender Artsakh” and alike.

A member of the initiative group Naira Margaryan commenting on the rally told to reporters: “Our imitative gathers women of different ages, professions around the resolution to keep Artsakh Armenian.

We reaffirm the Armenia’s commitment of upholding the right of Artsakh to self-determination as enshrined in the Declaration of Independence [of Armenia]. We are alarmed that the negotiations conducted by the incumbent authorities [...] are not aimed at promoting the national interest of Armenia or of Artsakh and we are here to raise our voice.”

Margaryan also said that the current policy on Nagorno-Karabakh is at odds with the pre-election platform of the ruling party when they came to power.
