AIESEC in Armenia was founded in 1989 as a local representative of the global AIESEC organization. It gives Armenian students a chance to work on different projects with representatives of other countries, take part in youth exchange programs, volunteer both abroad and locally, participate in international conferences and seminars.
AIESEC is the largest youth-run organization in the world which was created in 1948. Currently the organization is active in more than 120 countries, collaborates with more than 1700 universities and has about 40000 active members around the world. Being an international, non-political, non-for-profit organization AIESEC gives young people an opportunity to find and develop their potential having positive impact on the society.
On April 13-th the Best Western Congress Hotel in Yerevan hosted the first of a series of events aimed to celebrate the anniversary of AIESEC in Armenia. Alumni of different generations and current members of AIESEC in Armenia gathered together in a warm atmosphere to share memories and new ideas. The organizing team presented the plan for upcoming events dedicated to the 30-th anniversary of AIESEC in Armenia.
Besides the alumni had a panel discussion about leadership development in Armenia. The speakers shared about how the AIESEC experience helped them gain practical knowledge and develop leadership skills. They also discussed what kind of leadership Armenia needs nowadays and how the AIESEC in Armenia network counting more than 2000 alumni can contribute to leadership development of the country.
The project manager of AIESEC in Armenia 30-th anniversary events Ishkhan Margaryan notes that all these years of active work prove that AIESEC in Armenia as a youth-run organization has overcome all the challenges and is now entering a new stage of long-term plans and new projects. Namely, the alumni are working on founding an official AIESEC in Armenia alumni association, which already has its new online platform on aiesealumniarm.org. Here, the alumni of different generations can register, follow news, see upcoming events and contribute to different projects.
The AIESEC in Armenia 30-th anniversary events are organized with the support of Golden partner “Ucom”, as well as “Pepsi Armenia” and “Aurora Baréalisse” marketing agency. The organization is open to new partnerships. Besides, it launched crowdfunding to support further events and initiatives.
