Ep. 1 - Neil Hauer - Covering the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict & war as a foreign journalist

The first episode of the Nagorno-Karabakh miniseries produced by Regional Post Caucasus and Eastern Dialogue will feature Canadian freelance journalist, analyst, and researcher Neil Hauer who is writing on the North and South Caucasus. Neil has years of experience living in the region and reporting on the ground from all over, including the frontlines of Nagorno-Karabakh. His stories were published on CNN, Guardian, Foreign Policy, and AlJazeera.

 

This episode will discuss the international media coverage of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the 2020 war with Azerbaijan. Neil shares his thoughts on editorial choices, challenges that war & conflict journalists face, as well as the response of the international community and human rights organizations to the Second Artsakh War.

Ep. 2 - Eric Hacopian - The Armenian Diaspora and lobbying during wartime

The second episode of the Nagorno-Karabakh miniseries produced by Regional Post Caucasus and Eastern Dialogue will feature Eric Hacopian, a political consultant, and strategist with over 25 years of experience in American politics. Eric has been living between California and Yerevan. In 1997 Eric started his own political consulting firm EDH & Associates specialising in general consulting, direct mail, and television aspects of political campaigns.

 

During this episode we will discuss the role of the Armenian Diaspora in the course of the Second Artsakh war, its importance as an Armenian lobbying asset abroad, and the challenges of the Armenia-Diaspora relationship dynamics in pre- and post-war realities.
