On 11 October Louis Bono, the US co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and senior adviser for negotiations in the Caucasus met with Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and the head of the Security Council Armen Grigoryan.
According to the Armenian government's press service readout, the parties discussed the process of normalizing relations between Yerevan and Baku, emphasizing the importance of its continuity.
The interlocutors discussed issues related to the humanitarian situation that arose as a result of the forced displacement of more than 100 thousand Armenians from Nagorno-Karabakh as a result of Azerbaijan's policy of ethnic cleansing, and steps to resolve these problems. The parties also exchanged thoughts on the quadrilateral meeting held in Granada between the Prime Minister of Armenia, the President of France, the Chancellor of Germany and the President of the European Council.
Also, topics related to Armenian-American relations were touched upon.
At the meeting with the Secretary of the Security Council of Armenia Armen Grigoryan, issues of settling Armenian-Azerbaijani relations were also discussed.
Grigoryan presented Bono with Armenia’s approaches on this topic, the press service of the Security Council reports.
The parties also considered the humanitarian problems of internally displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh, as well as issues of ensuring their rights.
Earlier Louis Bono had a meeting with Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan.
