Armenia is ready to use all available platforms to conduct negotiations around peace and stability in the South Caucasus. Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Vahan Kostanyan told reporters about this on October 16.
“It is very important that the partners mediating discussions with the Azerbaijani side do not try to advance their bilateral agenda at the expense of the interests of Armenia,” Kostanyan said.
According to him, in general, Armenia does not have a preferences in the choice of platforms of negotiations with Azerbaijan, the main thing being the establishment of peace in the region.
As the Deputy Foreign Minister noted, it is now expected that the Azerbaijani side will announce its position regarding the principles enshrined in the Granada statement signed on 5 October by the leaders of Armenia, France, Germany and the European Council. Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev skipped this meeting.
The next meeting of the leaders of Armenia and Azerbaijan is planned in Brussels at the end of October with the mediation of the head of the European Council Charles Michel.
A meeting of the leaders of the two countries was also expected in Bishkek through the mediation of the President of the Russian Federation within the framework of a meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the CIS, but the Prime Minister of Armenia had canceled his participation in the meeting.
